i have 08 escalade and now i wanna get either 09 escalade or 09 platinum escalade.I cant decide if it worth to spend extra money.What do you guys think ?

When I ordered my 09' I thought about a platinum and when I ordered my 10' I thought about it again, but to me it just was not worth the extra 13k, my biggest problem is not getting the tow hooks with the platinum, I need tow hooks for the snow, and I do not want the power running boards because so many friends have had problems in the snow and ice with them. The wheels on the platinum are nicer, and the interior is a nicer leather. I personally feel the standard Escalade is already overpriced for what you get, but I have or had owned 5 of them, I just can't give GM anymore money, the whole bailout thing is making me sick. :(

the grille of the "standard" escalade looks better imho vs the platinum.

i think you guys are right.More that i think about it i think its more sensible to get the regular escalade.Platinum is little nicer but spending extra 10k is seems to be little too much for upgraded leather and grille.

Just picked up my new 2009 ESV Platinum last week (Black Raven with Light Linen/Cocoa leather and Olive Ash/Burled Walnut on dash). Test drove 2 regular ESV's at dealer before deciding on Platinum. One had Ebony interior and the other Cashmere. More than anything, Platinum interior sold me over regular ESV. Real wood trim and aniline leather vs. fake wood and regular leather. Would not select power running boards if I had a choice, but they come standard. LED headlights are pretty cool too and really like Platinum grills (large upper and slim lower.) This one's a keeper fo sho...

if the platinum comes with more hp, more torque and same gas mileage and a dry sump oil system, then it is worth it. cosmetic upgrades is in the eyes of the owner. the non-platinum is okay with me(as long as it is a hybrid).

Seriously just get the 09 regular and pick out somethings that you like on the platinum that can be added without spending an arm and a leg.. Like the HID lights.. plus the wheels can always be bought on ebay i'm sure or you can find something online that is more your taste.. Aftermarket wheels.. like asanti wheels

Most probably i wil get the regular 09.I wish platinum had more power.Maybe that could made me wanna get a platinum.
