View Full Version : Got in an accident, YAY!! (with pics and need help) i haven't been on here a lot since i sold my cts, but i know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here so i would like everyone's opinions.
i was stopped on the highway in a traffic jam, and someone trying to switch lanes doesnt get room, and under my car. she must have been going about 15-20 mph as she really didnt have time to slow down.
her car went underneath mine, and thats where most of the damage is.
car doesnt look that bad but there are creases in my c pillar. does that mean anything????
btw i was coming home to wash my car and the yay in the title is sarcastic

the creases are the same on both sides dkozloski 11-02-09, 11:40 PM Mild damage, all over. It'll never be the same again. Jonas McFeely 11-02-09, 11:44 PM Forgive my blatant bigotry, but take a gander at her rear view mirror. She was a Puerto Rican female. Go figure. Not to say that not all woman drivers are scary, they are, but ive found in my short years on the road that Puerto Rican female drivers are some of the worst and downright dangerous.

please explain Stingroo 11-02-09, 11:49 PM As a Puerto Rican male, sir, I agree with you. V-Eight 11-02-09, 11:54 PM You scared to ride with your mom? Stingroo 11-02-09, 11:56 PM No, my mom's white. I'm mixed. :P You scared to ride with your mom?
?????
edit: i thought you were asking me, nevermind Kick94sts 11-03-09, 12:00 AM If there are creases like that chances are something important is bent, and hopefully it will not be totaled. I~LUV~Caddys8792 11-03-09, 12:09 AM That stinks. I like Saabs. :( Jonas McFeely 11-03-09, 12:18 AM I like Saabs. :(
I also like them. A lot. I almost got a '98 9-3 Turbo with mods before i got my Altima. But it was like $1,000 more, and i couldnt swing it. Meh. dkozloski 11-03-09, 12:30 AM If there are creases like that chances are something important is bent, and hopefully it will not be totaled.
Exactly. gdwriter 11-03-09, 01:04 AM Those creases in the C-pillar indicate the unibody is bent. In some cases, if it's not too severe, a good body shop can pull it back out. I was rear-ended years ago and the impact pushed my car into the car in front of me. There were two dimples in the roof that indicated the unibody was bent, but it was minor enough that the body shop pulled it straight and the car emerged good as new. But to my (admittedly inexperienced eyes) creases in the C-pillar indicate more significant damage to the unibody than do dimples in the roof. F could this picture with the same crease mean anything relating to my incident?

Start looking for a car with a frame...like an 85 monte carlo...like the one I have for sale.... :D the recluse 11-03-09, 09:31 PM could this picture with the same crease mean anything relating to my incident?

No, the side stresses on that car make the damage much worse.
Truth is, the car will NEVER be the same. With that kind of damage, some seams will have been destroyed and pulling the body only weakens it. Car is toasted in my opinion.... | |
