With Fall temps lowering and high humitidy on early mornings, the cars windows and flat surfaces are all covered with dew (to be expected). For some reason, I have noticeable condensation (water) on the INSIDE front windshield as well.

Has anyone else expereinced this before I go to the hassle of taking to the dealer to investigate and have them break something else in the process of fixing something because that always happens?

I've not seen this before on any car I've had. At shutdown (late afternoon), the A/C temp is on AUTO, but more likely on partial vent as outside and inside temps are close. It does not smell musty or moldy inside, but there are visable water dropletts from the dash up about 1/2 way up the inside windshield on both the driver and passenger side of the car. The passenger side isn't as much as drivers side.

Clues / suggestions?

UM - say Tonto to Kimosabe- Not Good.

After some research and a closer inspection of the inside of the windshield, I notice that there is a slightly oily residue left behind after the a/c - defroster finally clears up the condensation.

It would appear by all logic there is a leaking hose or a leaking heater core, that, after the car is shut down and the glass outside begins to cool, causes a warm 'mist' of tiny antifreeze/water that is attracted to the cooler glass.

The dead give away is the oily residue on the inside of the glass. After wiping with a clean paper towell, it has a slightly pungent smell furthering the diagnosis. What is odd is the carpets are not wet on either side, nor does the coolant level appear low, well maybe just a little low.

Looks like it's off to the stealership and hope they give me a nice loaner car!

It doesn't take much coolent to cause this. Make sure they flush & fill & close it tight. Dexcool is notorious for degrading when exposed to air.

I as just wondering if your carwash is using some type of dressig on the dash board and leather parts in your car that is evaporating on the windows. Also I found that the fragrance that many car washes put in the car eventually deposit on the windows. Since I disallowed the car wash to dress the dashboard and put fragrances in the car, this lmist has disappeared.
