Has anyone contacted Cadillac yet to see if there is an updated firmware TSB for the nav unit? I'm sorry to nit pick but when you buy a nav unit with an option to auto update the clock from the GPS and to update for DST but does not it's a bit annoying to have to turn those options off to get the correct time.

What also concerns me is that this means the underlying CE OS wasn't patched from ~3 years ago when they implemented this changed in DST schedule. I sure hope there aren't any other patches missing.

Where is the digital clock on the Nav screen?

I don't see it. I have been using only the analog clock.

It's on the config menu. However, I first noticed the problem when my GPS showed me with an ETA of an hour late for my meeting.

What do you really expect with a Micro$oft operating system in a car ?

First, there is no time display on the GPS or radio. Secondly, there is no TSB or new software. All Cadillacs have operated this way ever since day one. The GPS will use the current time from the satellite as requested, but the user has to turn off (or on) the DST setting. This is done by use of the Config button on the center console. You will not be given the option of displaying the time on the radio or the GPS on the 2009 CTS-V. Setting the analog clock also requires operator intervention. Neither the digital clock (which cannot be displayed on the GPS or the radio) nor the analog clock are updated for DTS changes automatically. Micosoft has nothing to do with it.

I don't know if this helps but I was perusing the technical bulletins awhile back and remember seeing this. I don't know what timeshift operation is but it may be what you are talking about.

I don't know why, but I like to occasionally look up what types of problems customers are having with their cars :)

The Timeshift operation is the hard drive copying up to one hour of radio. The supplied answer of manually setting the DST is correct.

Ah, gotcha. Well at least we know what to do if the above happens.

My V automatically changed the time one hour back. I didn't have to do anything. It seemed to automatically link up to the GPS Satellite on it's own and when I got in the car, the time had already been set to the correct time. Of couse, I had to manually set the analog clock.

Your CTS-V did not change the time automatically. As I said before, this does not happen automatically. In all likelyhood you never changed the time from no DST, since you can't see it on the radio or the GPS. As a result you did not know the digital time was off by an hour during the DST period. You just think it changed the time back when, in reality, nothing happened.
