I just ordered my free upgrade for my 2007 Escalade and was told that they will be shipping the 2010 disc.... It should arrive in the mail this week. Also when you go to the gm nav disk website it only brings up the 2010 disk. YEA!!!!

Here's a joke for everyone ... I called about the updated disk ...guess what they told me? The disk isn't available for free at this time. WTF?!

Guess some penny pincher at GM thinks people will go out of their way to pay $199 for a disk that will likely be bootlegged on the net at some point soon.... what idiots.

Just like Onstar. I don't use it and would only use it for a door unlock or theft or whatever ... and I have 2 GM vehicles. Rather than offer a plan that suite the masses ... they try to jack everyone for separate subscriptions. Again, WHAT IDIOTS. I'd pay for a family plan for my intended use ... but no way I'm paying $200+ a year per vehicle for something I dont use.

And dont even get me started on XM radio ....

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered my '09 upgrade last December but had to wait 6 months for it to ship.

Just called the 1-800 number and ordered my free '10 upgrade...should arrive in 7-10 business days. :)

I don't believe so. The offer is matched to the VIN.

You do not have to be the first owner....I bought my 07 lade about 6 months ago and it is attached to the VIN. As long as the previous owner did not take advantage of the free upgrade.

Troof! I bought my 07 Escalade 3 weeks ago, I called 877-NAV-DISC, gave them my VIN and they told me I qualified for the free update. Should be here in 5-7 days. The GM rep could have been a little friendlier, but whatever. I still get the new disc.

I just ordered one yesterday also and provided the VIN, lady said it would be here in 5 - 7 days at no cost. Anyone know what the 2010 offers over the 2007 disc that is in my NAV now, hopeing for a firmware upgrade with ETA

I ordered the 2010 disk and just got it. There is a new bridge in my area so I was expecting it to be there. No new bridge on the new disk. I am sum pissed off.:rant2:.

I got the version 8.3 today, previously had verson 1.0 / 2005. It updated for 10 minutes but I see no difference that what it previously had. BTW. Since their is no book the NAV, does anyone know if the navigation in the 2007 does 3d ?

Bought a used 2007 earlier this heard about the Nav Disk upgrade, ordered it and forgot all about it. Than in Sept. called them back and they said I must have gotten lost in their Database when they switch system and would send it right out to me and this would be my last upgrade. Got the disk installed it, but while installing got an error, tried installed again this time no error so I was happy. Than yesterday in the mail got the 2010 disk, version 8.3, happier now since I got it and it installed without reporting any errors.

So I received my version 8.3 2010 edition on Saturday. Popped it in to install it. The screen gets 4 out of 6 bars done then it goes dark and starts all over again. After running the truck for over an hour trying to get this to install, I gave up after it went dark 12+ times. Now I have no radio, no backup camera and no nav. I called and talked to tech support. I have to pay $138.95 to get the system diagnosed at the dealer on Wednesday, then GM will decide if they will pay to have it fixed which would include the 138. I even tried to put the old disc back in to revert back and its a no go, it says the old disc is no longer valid. I am in upgrade hell right now. :banghead:

I asked/told them 10 times that I should not be on the hook for this 138 (I'm over 50K mileage) but they won't eat it, even though everything worked perfect pre-upgrade.

wow I am keeping my 2009 upgrade and leaving it alone.

GM is eating the cost of a brand new head unit (900) but sticking me with 300 in labor. I'm pushing back on that and will find out tomorrow. They said they've never seen this happen before so I hope none of you have to go through this if you're upgrading an 07 Nav with the 2010 sw/map update disc.

How many free updates do you get. I thought it was two when I purchased my 2007. I got the postcard after the first year but not on my two year anniversary

I didn't get the postcard but called them and they're sending it when it gets off backorder.
