View Full Version : Turtle Wax Black Box for Black Paint JohnH4260 11-01-09, 09:34 AM Just waxed my new Raven Black '09 Escalade with the Turtle Wax Black Box product. The results are impressive. There were a few fine scratches in several places on the body, bumper and rear view mirror housing, and the Black Box product removed them pretty well.
The Black Box contains three different products: a black pigmented pre-cleaner and conditioner to remove fine scratches, swirl marks and surface contaminants. This is followed by a black pigmented Spray Detailer. Finally the wax is a Black Carnauba Wax.
Pretty good for only $19.99 at my local Auto Zone. K9Caddy 11-01-09, 09:51 AM Glad you liked it... However, for more impressive results try Zaino. Costs a little more, but well worth it! BTW, I've used Turtle Wax ICE products before and liked it. They have gone a long ways in terms of "wax" for an off the shelf product, but there is nothing better than Zaino, IMHO. Thanks for sharing that info. I will try it out. 3DRacing 11-02-09, 03:48 AM I am a huge fan of Zaino Bros. products as well. Easily the best products I have ever found (& I've tried a lot of products on the market). If you follow their instructions closely the results are nothing short of impressive. I previoulsy owned a black Yukon Denali and tried just about everything on market but could just never get rid of the swirl marks in bright sunlight (drove me absolutely crazy). Finally, I found Zaino Bros and have been a loyal customer ever since. At this point, I would never use anything else. I started with the clay bar, followed by 2 coats of swirl mark remover and 3 coats of wax with gloss enhancer between each coat and the paint never looked better (even when it was brand new). I can't tell you how many times strangers have come up to me and asked me how I get my cars to look so good (even when it hasn't been waxed for 6 months or more). I always tell them it's just a matter of using the right product, Zaino Bros!
I am not a Zaino dealer, distributor or affiliated with them in any way. I am simply a loyal and satisfied customer! The problem is carnauba waxes just do not last very long in the real world, and these trucks are big so you want to wax them as little as possible, and the synthetic waxes outlast carnauba at least 5 to 1 in durability, what that means is your standard carnauba wax will last 4-8 weeks, where synthetic waxes will last 4-6 months, and with black or any dark color the least amount time you have to touch the car/truck the less swirls you will have. Zaino is the best product I have ever used, and I was in the car detail business in the 80's and 90's with 36 shops, just nothing last longer than Zaino. :) I have found nothing as good as Zaino for both shine and durability. I just did the truck yesterday. Zaino AIO, followed by two quick coats of clear seal (Zaino CS). After washing and removing road tar, Zaino process beginning to end was less than 2 1/2 hours. I do that process twice a year for each of my vehicles. Once in November before the winter, once in May. I used to do it more, but with the Zaino products and my light colored vehicles (Lade is Quicksilver) , I would honestly just be wasting my time - they hold up that well.
p.s. I also recommend Zaino leather conditioner. I have used every leather product under the sun, and again Zaino is the best.
p.s.s There are many places to order Zaino, I get mine from Carl (hcvone) above. I have never had a problem and he ships lightening fast! Caliber 11-02-09, 01:44 PM the best product you can use that's been around since the 70s is a nice little product Id like to call KLASSE Plus if you follow my Post I made earlier.. on how to properly detail your ride you can make it last to 12 - 18 months with this product and typically 6-12 months on other products. If you get the set " Klasse all in one " Plus some Wax and sealent and plish and wax from klasse you'll be set. click the link below to be directed to the how to detail your ride.

Caliber 11-03-09, 09:29 AM Zaino you say... hmmmm I'll have to check that out then..... Sounds Like a winner. JohnH4260 11-12-09, 11:18 PM Just did the first wash after waxing about 10 days ago... truck looks great and wax held up well. Very impressed with Black Box for black paint.
