Only 12,486 miles on my 06 DTS and I have a front crank seal leak!! What gives? It is being covered under warranty, but is there anything else that should be looked at or into? TIA for any help.

With that said I was wondering if it could be attributed to the lack of lubrication to that seal causing it to fail. submariner409 11-01-09, 09:41 AM I seriously doubt that is the case: new and rebuilt engines and transmissions sit in warehouses for months, even years, and have no problems on startup. Ask the repair tech to take a hard look at the seal before he pops it out of the block groove - either a collapsed/broken spring or a cracked lip. dzlfumes 11-01-09, 10:03 AM Thanks, will do! | |
