Just picked up my '09 Black on Black Recaros. Dealer tried to sell me ResistAll coatings package, sounds interesting.

I have two children, 2 and 4 months, so food, drink and other fluid stains will be likely. I'm not really expecting much from the "protective coatings", but they provide a 7 year warranty where they claim to repair any stains or damages to the paint or interior.

Does anyone have experience with the company? Is this worth the money, or should I just buy a can of scotchguard? Are there any gotcha's like having to pay to apply or reapply the coatings?

You are better off going to a local place and getting that done. There is alot of profit in that for the dealer from what I have been told. How much did they quote you?

They quoted $485 for the Premium w/ 7 year coverage.

I discourage eating in the car, but sometimes the kids eat in reverse, if you know what I mean. Nothing like "daddy, I'm sick" when you're on the highway.

I also have catch mats under the car seats to trap the fluids leaking through the holes in the seats. The mats also stop the seats from marking the leather when you tighten them up. If I keep this as my daily driver for 8-10 years, I'd prefer to be prepared.

50$....3m scotchguard auto. i did the whole interior. Couple coats. The stuff is so good that my oem floor mats look brand new because dirt/mud/crap wont stick to them at all.

Just google extended "whatever" and you will see what kind of profit the dealer will make off you. Kind of like buying an extended warranty, see who offers the best price. Make a few few phone calls to some dealers and see who wants your business, or just do it on your own. You have kids so that is a new paradigm all in itself...If you got the money who cares? What is $485 for 7 years...

I personally let no one eat or drink in my car EVER, but that is different for you. I hope to never have children, and if I do, they will ride in mom's piece of crap VW.

I think you can get it done for $300 for 5 years at non-dealer places.
