I'm doing some research for my grandparents who are looking into getting another car. Right now they have a 09 SRX and are looking at getting the 2010 SRX. I went to the dealer and looked at the 2010, and it seems much smalled than the old model, after looking on edmunds I see it has alot less cargo room. The other thing that I do not like after driving the 2010 SRX is that it seems to have alot of blind spots and very poor rear visability, being older I think they will have trouble driving it.

The Escalade is a much nicer truck and I think they extra leg room in the front seats would be good for them. I just worry that it is too high off the ground. Edmunds show the escalade as only having .8 inched more ground clearence than the SRX, but it seems so much higer off the ground? Has anyone on here gone from an SRX to the Escalade, if so how do you like it? I traded in my 06 SRX for a 09 Sierra and I'm very happy with it.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges. The only thing the two have in common is they wear the Cadillac Crest.

I hate the new SRX compared to the "older" model it replaced, and I can not see myself buying another one, it looks like every other small SUV, and you are right it is not as easy to see out of. Take them and let them drive an Escalade, just make sure they park it a few times and get in and out several times, I would bet they will not like the differences, tell them to keep the 09'. ;)

I too went from an 06 v8 SRX to an 07 Lade. I like the Lade a whole lot better. BUT, for all of the reasons stated above, tell the grandparents to keep the 09. I would not buy a 2010 SRX, as the pre 2010 models suited me much better and seemed much bigger. 2010+ are nice, but not for me. Something to also think about: Can a wheelchair fit in a 2010 SRX? I know one can fit in a 04-09 SRX as well as in a Lade.

The 09 SRX they have has over 70k miles on it now, so they really do not want to keep it any longer. So it is going to come down to the 2010 SRX or Escalade. The Escalade would be a much better car for them, but they need to see if it is practical to get in and out of.

Just make sure they drive it around and try parking it. The draw back with the Lade is that is big and can be difficult to park at times as todays parking spots seem smaller. So getting into and out of the spots can be a chore at times.
