I recently purchased a new EXT and am having problems figuring out how to install the factory front license plate frame that came with the truck. It came with the color matched frame as well as some rivots for mounting. I see 2 small indentions in the front bumper to help line things up but i guess i just havent used rivots very often. Any help on how to mount the frame using these rivots would be greatly appreciated. I could just take it to the dealer and have them put it on but i'd rather just handle it myself.

My advice, take it to the dealer. It's not worth messing up your bumper. Had mine done at the dealer. I bought the bracket and they installed it for free.

We don't need the front plate in our state, happy about that, but my dealership is in NJ where they need the front plate, saw them installing one, as said about I would take it to the dealership due to the riveting on of the holder, while I hate going to the dealer for anything, they do put them on everyday. :)

^^ I agree. Let them do it - if they mess it up, they have to fix it.

I had the opposite issue with mine. My Lade came from an out of State trade with a nearby Indiana dealer and had a bracket . In MI, I don't need a front plate. After offering me a really nice Cadillac license plate to put in it, then offering me 300 bucks to just keep the plate holder, my dealer agreed to remove it, fill in rivot holes, and paint the bumper to my satisfaction before I would accept the truck. Holding up great after 3 years.

My second 07', the dealer installed the bracket after putting in writing NOT to put a front plate holder on on the sales slip, I did not take the truck, they ordered me another truck because of that, of course that one exploded in my garage after 3 weeks. :(

Yeah, mine was in writing too....as well as no dealer stickers. :banghead:

When the truck arrived, they knew there was going to be a problem. Dealer in Indiana had allegedly told them it did not have the plate holder. They handled it to my satisfaction, so all ended well. I did not have the option to wait for another truck unfortuneately. I had already assigned my 06 SRX lease and the somewhat odd option packages I wanted (no NAV, but roof, cooled seats, chrome wheels, etc) in my color choice was hard to find at the time. If it had not looked good after painting, I would have rejected it.

Yea the dealer advertising emblems never see my cars/trucks, they some times lean their emblems on my cars/trucks because they like to get me going, but then they usually find it stuck to their front window, so they don't do that too often anymore.
