I did not get the Nav option on my V-2, and notice the tower does not rise when the radio is powered up. Is this normal?

Is this normal? nynd 10-26-09, 09:48 PM Yeap - it only rises if you have nav. tedcmiller 10-26-09, 09:57 PM There is a button on the center console that can be used to raise and lower the display. The car keeps the current position between start ups, so, if it was down when the car was turned off before, it will remain down when the next start up occurs. Try pressing the button and see what happens. If the display is commanded to rise, it should do so. NeedCTS-v 10-26-09, 10:53 PM Only if you have the nav unit. tedcmiller 10-26-09, 11:17 PM On my 2009 CTS-V with the Navigation unit, the button is in the same row and the 4-way flasher button and occupies the far left position. It shows a screen symbol with "NAV" inside the screen and has up and down arrows to the right of the screen. Maybe this button is not present if there is no Navigation unit, however the up (large) screen shows much more radio info than the down (small) screen. I will check the owner's manual to see if the button is present only when the Nav unit is installed. tedcmiller 10-27-09, 12:25 AM The Nav up/down button is mentioned only once in the CTS/CTS-V owner's maual and it implies that the button is not present if the Nav system is not present. The operation of the button is explained only in the Navigation supplement to the regular owner's manual which would not be provided if the Nav system is not present. OldDrummer55 10-27-09, 04:17 AM Thanks for the info Ted. The others are correct as on my V the far left switch is the suspension control. I believe the owner's manual is poorly written. I would have to agree that the owner's manual is not what I would have expected on a car costing this much. This is 1 corner that I think that GM should not have cut. bk000 10-27-09, 06:10 PM I would have to agree that the owner's manual is not what I would have expected on a car costing this much. This is 1 corner that I think that GM should not have cut. I disagree...pay the engineers to design an awsome car and pay some skilled, pround guys/gals to build it...cut cost on the owners manual - We have this forum to figure out how to use the car. However, you are right that the owner's manual is a POS! | |
