Ok, so I've given this a lot of thought, and I can't quite figure out what to put in place of the stock CD changer. I have a 7" touch screen nav display, I put in a 15" flip down, and I'm going to replace the stock rear seat radio controls with a 7" monitor, so replacing the CD changer with a monitor might be a little overkill.
I'm not too fond of the idea of just sticking a universal pocket right there, because 1. There already is a pocket right above the CD changer and 2. Everything else is trimmed in woodgrain. A universal pocket wouldn't match with everything else in my opinion.
Does anyone have anything else in place of the CD changer? Does anyone have any pics?

LuScola had his woodgrain custom matched to blend in with the factory woodgrain. He had a monitor in that spot. Maybe you can find out what company did that and have them make you a piece that would eliminate the cd changer hole.

hmm.. i will have to try and find the pics when i did the whole video system in my truck but i took the cd changer out and put a half din dvd player and a half din flip out monitor and taped them together and put them in that slot..looked great.. and was nice to have another monitor up front and dvd controls.. still have the package sitting in my closet.. i took everything out of the truck as i was thinking of selling it a while back.. once i get my mustang out of the shop and have it street ready i plan on redoing the caddy.. lots and lots of upgrades going in... going to do some exterior mods along with interior and audio upgrades.. should come out nice..
I have the ipod integration kit in my truck and my CD changer crapped out on me so I removed it and I put some soft meshy material in there and my ipod sits in there. I routed the wiring behind the dash so it looks pretty clean. I would love to do another screen in there but I have some other pots on the stove right now. Lol
My Nav unit plays DVD's, has a 7" screen and it comes with an iPod/iPhone cable that I have routed to the glove box right now.
Adding another screen just doesn't seem very appealing. I kinda want to do something 'different'. Aside from a pocket, the only other thing I can think of to put there is a single din gauge cluster (I don't have anything to gauge, so that's out) or a switch panel (I don't have anything to switch on or off, so that's kinda 'out' as well)

i once saw a guy put a chrome plate with the word Cadillac written on it and had a blue light behind it so it would light up blue.. that looked pretty good.. thats all i can really think of.. i mean there isnt all that much else you can do with that spot without going completely custom..

I wanted to keep it simple so i just trimmed a piece of ABS plastic and put in a couple of switches and a bass knob. I added some style to it with some rub-on transfers from an old gun safe i had.

I was thinking switches as well. That's what I did in my 2000 when I took out the cd player. The problem is that I don't have anything to 'switch'. Guess I'll have to get started installing a bunch of other shit.
