I had some time to kill so I went to Cadillac.com and went through the build your own 2010 CTS-V portion of the website and they had an option that was labeled as: "underhood appearance package" and cost $110.00.

Anyone know what this entails? I tried clicking on it to see if there was a picture of the option, but nothing.

Perhaps some cheesy decal applications? Scott/Tony?

Also curious about the 'hood protector' for $150.
My clear XPel protectant cost a lot more than that, but I had more than the hood done.

I've asked the same question ("Anybody know what the "LPO, Underhood Appearance Package" for $110 is?") in two other threads without getting a knowledgeable reply.

In the SPO site, Hoodprotector is shown as:
Urethane Film: Help shied the hood of your car from stone damage with this custom designed clear hood-protector that provides precise fit by following the contours of the hood.

I saw a mention of the appearance package as a carbon fiber engine cover but I can't find it anywhere else

MReiland,

That is definitely worth it! Do you know what the underhood appearance package is or can you find out?

I was under the impression that it is a fake carbon fiber looking engine cover.

Thanks in advance for any information you can find out.

I thought it was an underhood liner with an emblem or something of that sort. I'm waiting for a salesman to get back to me on it, hopefully with a pic!

According to the online order/reference guide, the underhood appearance package is available for the CTS, but not the CTS-V.

According to the Cadillac website, it is available as an option for the CTS-V.

Check it out.

As I recall, both the website and the online ordering guide have been less than 100% accurate, from time to time. Neither one offers a clue to what the darned "package" is, though.

I'm afraid I haven't gotten an answer from the salesman yet. I even emailed him and no response...

To make a long story short we weren't too happy with our previous salesman, one never called back when he said he would as soon as a 2010 brochure came in, and the third stopped calling back as well so we are considering who to call. (All from a dealer with a very high customer satisfaction rating!!!)

"Underhood Appearance - Shield Package
The underhood appearance of your CTS can be enhanced with the addition of these black grained covers, hiding engine components beneath them. Fit at the outboard sides of the engine compartment."

The 2009 V included them, it looks like they're an option on the 2010 V for $100.00. Part #19244385 or code CBG. Possibly it's only an option on the CTS, and included on the V............... Discuss :)

The answer is with Tony or Scott
