Hi everybody,
during summer my blower stopped working especially during hot days, but then came back after a couple of hours.
Since last week it stopped completly. AC and heating are still working.
I would like to check the blower, but I do not now where the blower is located.
Maybe somebody even has a repair manual for it.
I am lookin forward for every hint, since I really do not want to drive through winter witout a blower.
Thanks in advance...

On a long shot, check for blown fuse.

Fuses are okay. I checked them...
The blower is on the right side (passenger side) behind the glove box. The Service Manual says to remove the closeout /insulator panel first, then the instrument panel compartment (glovebox). That you give you access to the blower motor (for inspection or removal).
The above information is for a '06 STS. (I would assume this to be accurate for all current generation STS's)
Be careful testing. I think all GM blowers are now driven by solidstate output of varying voltage (not like the old days at all).

Today, I made my way to the blower and I suppose I found the problem.
The "HVAC Control Processor" is nor working correctly.
I can see different voltage coming in on Pin 2, depending on what speed I choose at the blower switch.
But there is 0 volt an the two cables, connected to the blower.
Furthermore I connected 12V to the blower and it started instantly.
So I would order a new "HVAC Control Processor" unless one of you would tell me, that I missed something here.
Any help is appreciated....

Update:
I took another look at the Schematics for the Blower Controller.
At my tests I had no power on Pin 3 and Pin 4. (see atachement)
If I have no power on Pin3 than rather the fuse or the Relay is malfunctioning.
But. Fuse and Relay are okay. I checked them both a couple of times.
Leaves only the wiring! Or does anybody have another idea ??
How did you make out with this?

As one member said, today's blowers are very complicated looking things. No longer just a cheap fan. My service mgr has one sitting on his desk. A real eye catcher, and it retails for about $400 as I recall. (I want my 91 Cutlass back--seems like nothing on that car cost more than 10 cents.) lol
Looks to me like a dealer visit is in store for you.

Off topic just a little The rear shocks for this car are 483.00 apiece the front struts are 430.00 apiece so i feel your pain about going to the dealer for your blower 05 sts 1sg.
