Well I finally Started working on my 91 Brougham. This past Tuesday I changed my oil and noticed something very wrong with the front suspension. I was greasing all the ball joints and steering parts when i noticed the sway bar end link.

I thought this looked wrong so i looked at the other side and seen that it's suppose to look like this.

So i figured I should def. fix this soon. with all the things i help my mom out with (mowing the lawn, maintaining the house, fixing her car, etc.) she said she would buy all the parts i would need to fix up the Cadillac. So I went shopping. First thing I got were new Opera light off Ebay. they were 75 bucks shipped.

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t201/mjs182004/1991%20Cadillac%20Brougham/IMAGE_127.jpg

then I went to my local Parts store Murrays / Oreilys and got new rear Air shocks for 75 Bucks. Which I thought were gonna be a lot more Expensive. I also got the Adapter kit for 6 Bucks.

(pictures to come)

I also got 1 new sway bar end link for 8 Bucks.

(pictures to come)

And finally I got some Paint to touch up some spots. I went down to my local Paint shop called Premier Paints and got a spray can matched to the factory paint code. the color is LT Antelope Firemist

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t201/mjs182004/1991%20Cadillac%20Brougham/IMAGE_111.jpg

So I began painting some of the bad spots with primer first and then the paint, with light sanding in between.

So with any luck i will have it Back on the road soon. I started with the rear shocks after the paint, but the weather came into play and now I'm sick. But I will have more pictures of stuff as the progress continues.

Very nice car! It seems to be in great shape. I know how much of pain the weather can be. Good luck with it! :D

nice, how did the paint come out? Did you prep the paint area or just clean it

With the old shocks looking like that (and with the new shocks installed), is the ride now more of a floating feel instead of a horrible bounce? Great progress man. I love the color of your car.

Nice work on the front suspension & paint both, seeing all that gave me something to smile about :)
I'm thankful that some people are lucky enough not to have some snotbag HOA trying to dictate their business

Is that "Light Antelope Metallic"???? I know a guy local to me that has a 1991 D'Elegance in that color. 50k miles, 100% orginal. His car is absolutely mint until somebody ran a red light and tagged his right rear fender. Said he was going so fast that it spun him around four times and into a ditch. Only that rear 1/4 and bumper is damaged, its easily fixable, but he just keeps driving it all banged up, its a tragedy.:nono::nono::nono:

Thanks Guys! the paint came out ok i guess. but the car really needs a new paint job. I'm just trying to make it look a little better and not rust any more than it has for now. once i get some money lol, i will have it professionally painted. the bouncy bouncy is gone and the car rides right over the bumps smoothly now. it feels great. It's a little stiffer than i thought it should be, but its way better than before. Also I feel that it has better response to the gas pedal and brake pedal, and for sure the handling feels a lot tighter. And yes the paint is Light Antelope Firemist. which i believe is a metallic.

Right, Light Antelope Firemist. I love that term, sounds a lot cooler than saying "metallic"

This last spring, when I got the '84 out of storage, the sunlight hit the hood of the car in a way that made all of the metallic pieces shine. I had been reading on the forums about the firemist paints, and I hadn't realized until then that it was actually a firemist paint. I proudly include Firemist in the name of my paint color any time somebody asks what color it is.

Great Job. I have a 92 that I have had to "arrest" rust bubbles my self.
