View Full Version : My Escalade ESV turbo build pics.
Well, i finally got my truck running so i'll post up some pics. I still have a few things left (methanol install, tuning, waste gate outlet to exhaust). But i'm actually driving it now so i'm happy. It's taken me 7 weeks to get this far, 60 hours a week, 15 hours at school and modding Wii's has only let me work on the truck about 3-4 hours a week. Some details are it's a KB racing log, stock driver side manifold, TiAL 50mm blowoff valve, TiAL F46 wastegate, T-76 ball bearing Turbonetics turbo, big ass intercooler, Eboost 2. At first i had just welded the 3.5" down pipe to the stock catback to get it running, but with cut outs closed it felt to restrictive and open it was way too loud, so i bought a Magnaflow and some pipe. came out pretty good, i think.

Wow that's so sick! How much did the kit run you?
I bought it used for $3,500, then spent another $100 ffor misc stuff and $175 for the custom catback. So i probably have just under$4,00 in the turbo build.

After the Magnaflow it's SUPER quiet. Before with the cutouts open it sounded bad-ass! Turbo whine was super loud, should have recorded it. oops.

Don't know if an AWD dyno will strech far enough to fit my truck. Besides the only numbers i'm concerned with are track times. Dyno numbers are for bench racers. My friend tunes all my cars using custom tunning software and a wide band. he tunes on the street for max driveability and performance in real world conditions. I'm running 72lb injectors.
How much max boost do you think you can safely tune for? Is there a piggy back computer or can you open tune the car? Great job on all the metal work, really.
I can safely run about 12psi, but will probably keep it around 7psi to 10 max so i don't shit the tranny.

That is just nuts. Good luck on the rest of your project. Do you think you will end up with any problems with the drivetrains front and rear or both.

Yes, It's actually not that tight of a fit. i have plenty of room.
