Our old Guru said they where, but my wife's '96 3800 calls for them and I've just quit using the damned things completely. I've got a qt. sized jar full of them.

That's interesting,I've owned 3- 3.8's over the years and didn't know they
were required.

I had Buicks with the 3.8, and nothing was ever mentioned about that. (??)

The bars leak is the identical product, they make the pellets for g.m..
One is ground up and the other is in pellet form.

Hmm, I thought the 3800 was supposed to use them. I know I WAS using them in it. I'll have to check the FSM to see what it says. Maybe I just listened to the Guru too much and used them in everything.

I looked up engine description for a 96 buick 3.8, it's shows it has a
cast iron block and heads, would this mean it doesn't require any supplements.?

Ahh, that probably validates my statement above.
