Some times my 93 fleetwood brougham won't start. If spray a little starting fluid in it, it will start and run great. Any ideas of what would cause this? Could it the fuel pump acting up?

Could it the fuel pump acting up? csbuckn 10-23-09, 03:41 PM sounds like fuel delivery, like a fuel pump, filter or line. How does it do at wide open throttle? 93cadillacbrougham 10-24-09, 08:59 AM It does great, I pushed the pedal to the floor with no problems. csbuckn 10-24-09, 10:40 AM Well I would make sure both injectors are working first, then you could have the fuel pump tested before dropping the tank. jayoldschool 10-24-09, 01:30 PM So it runs fine after starting? No problems? If so, it can't be the fuel pump. Here's what is supposed to happen. When you turn the key to RUN, the fuel pump is supposed to run briefly to prime the system with pressure. Is this happening? You should hear it. thefleetwoodguy 10-24-09, 01:34 PM what condition is your dist cap, and plugs? if you have very worn spark plugs, it can make it a bear to start fresh tune up would recently?? outsider 10-24-09, 06:32 PM my firied had a problem like this recently...the garage changed out his fuel pump and it still had the same problem. turned out to be the distributor 93cadillacbrougham 10-27-09, 05:06 PM Thanks!!!
