Im about to get a replacement transfercase from a junkyard. I am gonna try to install it myself. Im pretty sure the basic steps are;
1. get the exhaustpipes out of the way. 2. disconnect shaft going to front diff. 3. disconnet shaft going to rear diff. 4. disconnect transfercase from transmission. 5. mounting replacement transfer case with wireharness.

Is something left out? can someone tell me if its difficult/how to get the transfercase disconnected from the transmissioin, is it only 6 torx bolts, like the shafts? Other things i should know before i try?

thanks!

Search the forum, someone was replacing the carrier bearing and broke some aluminum strap or something. You might want to look out for that.

Make sure you have a way to refill when it's up in place, not sure how it is attacked to the tranny but I doubt they share oil.

My dealer asked me 400 CAD to do the job....Negotiate and you will get a good deal
