As previously mentioned, I was looking for an extra set of wheels since I run Summer and Winter tires and did not want to spend a fortune and wanted no fitment issues.

So I called my buddies at Calchrome who do tons of OE exchanges and sure enough they had V OE wheels in chrome which I ordered and put on today.

Sorry for the lously picture quality. They look great in person--picture polished but much shinier and MUCH easier to clean. (those paying close attention will notice the center caps are chromed and not dark )

went to their site for info.

Bump for your cost for the exchange. I realize shipping will differ. Also, what was the turnaround time for your transaction.

thanks in advance

They are about 15 minutes away from my house.

I will call them to see how much a chrome exchange would be.

Glad to hear they have OEM exchanges available--at least for chrome. I wonder about black chrome...I inquired about an exchange set of black chromes back in January but the car was too new. Time to ask again :D

SG,

Thanks let me know what you find out. If you are inclined, please ask if they have could quote for a outright chrome. I am also interested in black chrome vs chrome. I could send them my summer set after I remove the PS2s.

Sorry for the delay . I think mine were about $2100 for 4 chrome OE V wheels outright (no exchange) Then about $250 for shipping 3000 miles to Va.

I have sent them Viper wheels for chroming and they come back spectactular. If you search them on the VCA Viper forum site you will see a lot of great reviews.

I ordered mine and had them in 4 business days from Cal to Va. But I don't know what they have in current inventory--maybe my timing was good. Ask for "Blaine"

Does chrome plating add much extra weight to the wheel?

Hmmmmm......I love the look of black chrome on a silver car. I will have the winter to think about using Calchrome...thanks for the information and those look really good.

Holy crap, that's reasonable. I paid $800 for used ones and I''ll be paying about 250 per wheel to have them hyperchromed. All said and done that adds up to $ 1800, not far from the Calchrome price. Nice.

Ok, just spoke with Blaine over at CalChrome.

He said if I brought him my wheels, he would charge: $135.00 per wheel to chrome them and it would take 7 business days.

He said the chrome exchange would run $700.00 without chrome caps since I would be keeping the factory colored centercaps. It was a bit more for the chrome centercaps, but not much more.

Installation was: $100.00 which included: mount, road force balancing, tire pressure sensor swap AND Nitrogen fill!

He didn't have any chrome factory CTS-V wheels available and said to check back with him in about a month.

Shipping wasn't a factor because I live so close to them, but factor in shipping costs for those of you that would need to have your wheels shipping in and shipped back out to you if you choose to go that route, since they don't have chrome wheels ready to go.
