View Full Version : Escalade platinum LED headlights in STS? jufam44 10-21-09, 02:43 AM Hello All,
First time posting, I currently own an 05 STS4 1sg. I was wondering about the feasibility of installing the Escalade Platinum's LED headlights into the STS. How prohibitively difficult would it be to make the switch?
Thanks
-Max R1chard 10-21-09, 03:13 AM I doubt you can adapt it however instead you can track down the engineer that designed these specifically for the STS

:) STE_6000 10-21-09, 08:23 AM you wouldnt be able to do it anyway. the headlights are no where near the same. if you went that route, u'd have to modify the body and mount points a whole lot for it to work. bierman.d 10-21-09, 08:31 AM Specifically, that car R1chard posted is the STS SAE-100. Beastly car.
Supercharged LS2. STE_6000 10-21-09, 08:44 AM was it supercharged ls2? didnt remember reading that, but if you seen the picture of the crap in the trunk, im sure that supercharger was to make up for the 5,000 pounds of weight it is carrying. bierman.d 10-21-09, 08:51 AM Yeah if I remember correctly.
I can't find any pictures off hand.
What's in the trunk? STE_6000 10-21-09, 09:04 AM a crap load of electronics that have to be shrunk to be fessable for everyday use. look like a trunk for a police car, all crowded with gadgets. R1chard 10-21-09, 12:49 PM Specifically, that car R1chard posted is the STS SAE-100. Beastly car.

What's in the trunk?

 bierman.d 10-21-09, 06:44 PM I wish the rear seat pass through was put on standard models.. that could be so useful. I'm not a fan of LCD gauges though.
And wow! That is a messy trunk! Impressive.. next2pool 10-21-09, 07:30 PM The pass through is standard isn't it? STE_6000 10-21-09, 07:54 PM in the center between the 2 seats it is. i think he is seeing the seats in the back them selves as passthroughts, they aren't. those seats were design to be storage for the head sets. bierman.d 10-21-09, 09:06 PM Oh okay. I take that back then.
I guess I'd also have a problem with the gas mileage ;) STE_6000 10-22-09, 12:22 AM what gas mileage? you have to be able to drive it. so much weight in the trunk it probably just snap the drive-train :D bierman.d 10-22-09, 06:10 PM Hah yeah.
Just for shits and giggles, I used the mileage and gallons used on the cluster picture and it comes out to around 1mpg average lol.
I hope that's because they let it idle for 600 hours :D STE_6000 10-22-09, 06:38 PM it not suppose to move. the supercharged engine is to power the alternator for the accessories. :D next2pool 10-22-09, 06:50 PM it not suppose to move. the supercharged engine is to power the alternator for the accessories. :D
Got a good chuckle out of that one! lreddiablo 10-22-09, 08:46 PM it not suppose to move. the supercharged engine is to power the alternator for the accessories. :D
A lot to pay for a nice looking generator. Although it looks nice I think I'll go to Costco and pick up a less flashy generator for a few hundred dollars instead. |
