Guys my wife has told me that on 2 occasions, the 08' ESV has stalled.
The radio goes out and the Nav goes out. She revs the engine and it continues to drive...but it almost stalls. We are bringing it in tomorrow...but I have checked the battery and it shows 12 volts. Has anyone had this gremlin??

The stalling part only, yes - on our 01 SLS. It was a crank position sensor. Only stalled at slow speeds at first. Hope this may help in some way. If not, sorry......

I can't begin to tell you about the amount of problems that I have had with mine. No such thing as gremlins...call it what it is, american craftmanshi*

Hmmm....that is a good suggestion for me to pursue...crank postion sensor.
I appreciate it. He called me today and said the battery cable has too much "resistance"....we'll see what pans out..

Just and FYI ... a battery can show 12 volts but still lack enough amps to crank and/or operate the "systems". Even had a dealer replace a starter just to turn around and take it back because of a bad cell ....

Well then sell it and get the trouble free Range Rover/X5, etc. :cookoo:

If you have had that much trouble have G.M. buy it back . Then get one of those foreign jobs that never break and you can spread your sunshine on another site :)

Well here's the deal....the dealer replaced the Nggative battery cable. He claims there has been issues with too much "resistance" with this cable and there have many comlpaints about electrical issues. So, I now have a new negative cable and no more issues. So I'm good to go.

Funny you posted this, well problems are not funny, but I have been away for 10 days and my neighbor had called me while away with a stalling issue on his 2008 Escalade, didn't know what the problem was so I told him to take it to our shop and have them check the battery, his battery was finem but they replaced both battery cables and he has had no problems since, pretty strange, I guess they staopped using metal in the battery cables. :banghead::banghead:
