your supposed to do something with it? :crying: then why does Jiffy lube or where ever I go alway keep it err.

Actually I think you can take it to your local dumps special waste center for stuff like paint and oil and blah blah and I think they recycle the oil.

Put it in a milk jug or similar and take it to Autozone. They usually have a recycle vat in the back somewhere.

Most major oil changing stations have barrels out front, or if you go up to them they'll take it.

I believe that most places that sell oil or do oil changes are required to have disposal..... I only dispose of oil in the proper way.....

I just put it in one of the oil cans at work and wait for the pic up every 3 months or so. It helps when you work at a service station.

I also like to use battery acid for a shampoo because it gets rid of that pesky dandruff,(right down to the roots :) ) as well as the 40 weight I use for styling gel. :bighead:

wow i got in late on the conversation, but my dad takes all my old oil and burns it to heat our house and water. He built some kinda contraption that burns it. He gets all the oil from the local service stations and anybody else who give it to him and we completely heat our house with it. I don't know too many scecifics, but I could always call and ask. I do know that it doesn't make any smoke and doesn't really smell bad.

elwesso

Thats very interesting and Id like to hear more.. I wonder how he gets it to not smoke, because oil ALWAYS seems to give off very thick black smoke...

yea i seen an article on something like that.. you put your old oil in and it burns it and is completely safe.. kinda like a space heater... i'll see if i can get a link on that.. i thought it was cool

I thought w/a lease one didn't have to change the oil.. :hmm:

then again with early lease turn in programs, I rarely keep it long enough..
