brake lights only come on once in a while, kinda like it has a loose wire. the lights come on, but when i pushing the brake, it doesn't get any brighter. anyone have any idea what to do, or where to check this problem?

Does your cruise control work?? If it doesn't I would say it is most likely do to a faulty switch located on the brake pedal it self. The switch should be located at on the upper portion of the brake pedal. Check to see if it has proper allignment with the brake pedal, and see if the brake lights turn on if it is depressed.
