Anyone know how to make smoke come out of the exhaust without messing anything up? I have a friend that pranked me the other day and i want to get him back. Anyone know something i can trow in the muffler and make his car smoke like a bitch when it reaches operating temps?....

Just pour some oil in the gas, it'll be fine. :)

I know that there is a fuel injector cleaner, or an engine cleaner that the movie industry uses to make that effect. But, I don't know what it is. :(

Maybe some smoke bombs?

I remember one time I was looking at my friends car after golfing and I was joking like I was going to put a golf ball in the tail pipe and I accidentally dropped it in, luckily it popped right out on start up lol.

Always fun to ram an oversized potato up the tailpipe - and hope there's no one behind it when the engine starts..........

Haven't seen them in a while but they made a firework that you put the fuse in the spark plug boot and when it lit it made several bangs then smoked a ton and generally burnt up enough you would normally miss the debris on a casual look.

i 2nd this, pour a whole thing of seafoam in their tank, it will smoke real nice. and maybe even do their engine a little good..or not, depends on who you ask. of if you can get some right into the throttle body, will smoke a lot more.

+1

Pouring SeaFoam into the tank won't make a vehicle smoke. If you want to see some smoke on a higher mileage or older vehicle, pull a vacuum line and suck some SeaFoam into the engine or pour it right into the throttle body of a carb.

Old film with good info:

THis would make a good prank. Imagine not knowing someone foamed your engine and seeing it do this:

Those where great. They'd whistle and smoke like the devil. A fish or Limburger cheese on the exhaust manifold out to get his attention ......... eventually.

Adding motor oil to the gas tank drastically lowers the octane rating of the gasoline and could initiate detonation that can damage the engine.

The only thing I see mentioned so far that isn't too complicated or potentially damaging to the engine would be the old "auto fooler" but it would still take some work to install.
What kind of car does he have?

I see some good ideas here: http://www.discoverfun.com/pranks/cars.html

there are a few nice ones here.
i liked this one also

The Confetti Prank
Fill the defroster vents of someone's car with confetti. Be very careful not to spill any so they have no idea what is coming. Put the defroster on full so when they get in the car and turn it on the confetti goes everywhere. A good vacuuming will clear it up.

BTW he drives a 2001 E46 BMW

I would advise against that.
1. You'd have to get under the hood and remove the intake duct.
2. If you pour in too much and he goes to start the engine it could hydro-lock it and bend internal engine components... that would be bad.

I liked the vegetable oil in the tailpipe thing they mentioned, it should be temporary but I have never tried it.
Pouring anything in the gas tank would make the issue last for as long as that fuel lasts and as I said pouring things in the engine can cause damage.

If he drives a BMW it sounds like maybe he has suffered enough already.
