new here and need some help. when i purchased my 67 sedan deville the back two windows wouldnt move from the driver swithc or thier own door switch. the passanger would only work from the driver, . and the driver window would work but a worn gear keeps it from going all the way up. took it to an electrical place hoping that atleas one window would be an easy fix but instead got a list of parts i needed to totaling a little over 500 plus another 500 for labor. i would rather do it myself but i was wondering if i need all those original parts or if any of those universal power window kits would work. i seen them adverstised in truck magazines all the time for trucks with manual windows. cant i just use this on my caddy?

I dont think any universal kit will work. What parts did they say you needed?
I think in 1967 your windows are still hydraulic, not electric, so you'd have to redo a lot to use those adaptor kits.

1967 did have electric motors, 1959-1968 used the same motor, You can get the motors from Rockauto $100 each including a core charge.
E-bay is also a good place.
Dont forget scrap yards, a lot of years used the same switch
my 65 sedan windows dont work yet, it another job that needs doing, it can wait until the spring.

The windows and seat are protected by a cicuit breaker that is plugged into the fuse box. Try pulling it out and reintalling it. It is a silver rectangular box with two post connectors that push into the fuse box.

Not sure if this will work for you but I fixed the windows on my 69 cadillac this weekend by doing the following. very simple and free...
1: take off the door panel
2: find the motor (usually on the bottom of the door I think.)
3: hold down the window switch so the window would be going down if the motor was working.
4: tap the motor with a hammer a few times.
This actually worked. My girlfriend's father, who's helping me fix up the '69, suggested this and I thought he was crazy...turned out it worked and i now have functioning windows and it didn't cost a single cent. :D

Remove your motor from the door panel and make sure the glass goes up & down freely.........I bought the $140 motor for no reason other than bad troubleshooting.
Good luck
