I was just curious.. I was talking with a couple of guys about painting the bed covers on my ext and was told that no matter how well you sand it down and whatnot that eventually it will chip very easily.. just wondering if there is any special techniques that need to be used.. I like the look of the covers painted but if they are going to chip that easily not sure if it will be worth it to have them painted..

I believe he's talking about painting them to match the body color...

You should sand the texture off it as best you can. Then use plastic adhesion promoter, prime, base, clear. It wont chip easily if done right.
