My wife took her car to the store and when she tried to start it it wouldn't. It would not turn over, no sound, nothing. The horn and the door locks would work. After a bit over an hour she tried it again and it started no problem. It was hot, low 90's. About 6 months ago it would turn over but not start. The dealer could not find any problem.

Does this sound like the crank or cam position sensor? Would that stop it from turning over? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

We had the same problem, it got worse and would stall out while driving and not restart.

In our case if i remember correctly, it was the cam sensor(s).

We had the same problem with our 98 Catera. The dealer wanted to install a fuel pump, turned out to be the crank position sensor. Located near the oil filter, one bolt, 15 min to change, and $110 part from GM.

Actually it turned out to be a bad battery. I think those are strange symptons :hmm: for a bad battery. Oh well, it has been running fine for a couple of weeks now.
