Got a 2007 Escalade that comes off lease in a couple of weeks & I just found out that I qualify for "GM Supplier" pricing. Notwithstanding any other incentives &/or negotiating I can get - does anyone have an estimate of about how much the "supplier" discount will get me off a new 2009 AWD Escalade with a sticker of $71,740? I'm in the Chicago area if it makes a difference.

May dealers are doing GM supplier or GM worker discounts with how poor car sales are in general, they have been doing this on Corvette's for a few years now. :)

If you go to GM's supplier discount web site you can find out the exact amount . it looks like $2500-$3000 plus $6000 in incentives . Then whatever the dealer will throw in if anything . I don't think they are stuck with a whole lotta trucks . My dealer is down to Demo units and not giving 'em away. But that may not be the case at other dealers either . Keep us up to date , curious to see how you do.

I looked on DeSimone Cadillac's lot yesterday and they have (6) 2009 Escalade's

Don't worry about supplier price as you can do better without it. Using supplier locks you in to a price...go for GMS and you will do much better.

I agree! With 2010 Escalades beginning production this month, push for GMS and you will save like $10K off MSRP!

Thanks for the input - Ended up turning in my leased 2007 two months early & walking out with a basically identical 2009 for slightly less payments.
Dealer also suggested that he could do better than Supplier pricing after comparing all the options (lease vs. purchase.)
I wasn't real happy with the deal & the car dealer hustle but I got what I wanted & now don't have to worry about trading cars in the dead of a Chicago winter.

Most dealers have limited stock on hand, especially in hot markets like SoCal where Escalades are a dime a dozen. This means they are less inclined to negotiate. One local dealer to me said that straight outright and best he'd do was $1500 off retail and wouldn't negotiate a penny less (and that was with my supplier code approval in hand). Luckily there are 3 dealers near me and I was able to do supplier price at another one of the other dealers and he was letting me walk on $500 so I gave in. Times are strange right now but dealers can have the upper hand depending on where you live. Congratulations on the purchase!

This makes me wonder... would now be a good time for me to get out of my 08 EXT and step up to an 09 or 10?

I got GMS when I got my EXT.... Anyone know what trade in is on one with 16k (ish) miles?? and what an 09 or 10 can be had for? I am in Oklahoma, so pricing should be more competitive.

I don't forsee the stale '09 vehicles spewing over into midsummer '10 as the 08's did into '09 this year because of the factors at hand that influenced.

I bought my new '08 EXT this past June for 44k -- it has 3k on it and i'm sure I could probably sell it right now for more than I paid for it and I've owned it almost 5 months.

Would I want a '10 -- no as they are getting cheapy on the Rainsense and some interior trim (see Sticky on changes) -- I'm very happy with mine and will keep it at least until the 2nd year of the next body style change.
