My rear driver side lock doesn't work with the keyfob or even when pressing the unlock button on the driver side door. I don't really want to pay my deductible to get it fixed and was curious if anyone can give me any suggestions on things to look into before I take it to the dealership. Thanks.
Does it make a clunking noise when the buttons are hit? If not (and I'm guessing not), it is the motor. I would suggest gmpartsdirect to find the best price. Good luck!

Nope, no noise. I was afraid of that.

Actually a solenoid..magnetic coil moves it up and down!

Looks like you are going to have to go Old School on that one..
Pull the door panel - be careful of switches.
With a test light... test the switch to see if it works.
With a Hot wire.. test the lock solenoid to see if it does anything when you jump it. If unit doesn't respond with a direct hot jump - it is bad.
Often times it is just a bad connection, tearing things down and putting them back together fixes the issue.
Good luck!
