Folks,
just replaced a bad right rear caliper on my 2006 srx, and i am having a problem with it leaking at the attach bolt connection. The caliper came with a new copper washer which i installed and it leaks with or without the washer.
The bolt appears to have a similar washer that has been slightly crimped in diameter around the bolt threads to hold the bolt in place.
Does that washer need to be uncrimped from the bolt threads and replaced with the new one?
Done lots of calipers before, but never saw one with what looks like a copper washer pressed in against the bolt threads. Not even sure if it is a washer, but it looks like one.
Does anyone have access to the service manual that can send me the rear caliper installation pages?
Thx,
bob
