Just need some double checking.

Have a 92 DeVille w/ 73,000 miles

Put on new drums and shoes in March 09.
Put on new pads in Aug09.

Believe they bleeded the brakes in March but not sure about in August.

Anyways, 2 days ago, brakes got really soft and the brake pedal will eventually go to the floor while i'm holding the brakes on at a stop light. But I do have all of my fluid still in the resivor.

What would be causing this softness w/o out a fluid leak? Am I getting a air pocket somewhere in the brake line or at the brakes that is causing the lack of stopping power?

Thanks

Doing shoe and pad replacement does not require bleeding so if they were bled at all, you would have asked them to do it. A sinking pedal is either a by passing master cylnder or air in the lines. In order of diagnosis I would make sure the rear drum brakes are adjusted, can you hold the car in gear with your foot on the parking brake?,if not, too much clearance, low pedal. Second, have the system pressure bled. Third, if the low pedal remains, replace the master cylinder.

Belieave it or not I just got finished replacing the master cylinder in my 92 because it was doing the same thing, I picked mine up at pepboys for $60, took about an hour to install/bleed.
