I have a '92 Deville that is in great shape. Paint is original and does show signs of being 14 years old (maybe 15) , but overall very nice. The rear passengers side , the inside of the wheel well is peeling pretty bad. I want to cover it up so what should I do ? Should I call GM with the VIN and get the paint color (some shade of white ) ? Can I just buy a white paint can from the local auto parts store ? Do I need any prep work (should I sand it down) -Should I just sand it and put some kind of protectant on it ?

Can you post a picture? I'm not sure I have a clear mental picture of the area you're talking about.

Depending on where it is cosmetically, you might want to buy some of that rubbery undercoating spray and cover it that way. It would give you better winter protection if you ever have to deal with salt.
