I frequently get phone calls from men. One left a voicemail, "Hey baby, thought you were gonna meet me for breakfast? I hope I hear from you soon darling." He sounded pretty gross.

I keep getting phone calls for Tonya, seemingly from different male callers. "Hey how's it going?"

'Who's this?'

"Is this Tonya."

'No, sorry. I'm a dude.'

Tonya is either butch or she's a tranny. Or I sound like a woman.

It reminds me of the time I rented a pager and the guy that had it before me was a liquor salesman. I was getting pages all hours of the day and night from people wanting to buy booze by the truckload.

A lady I know has a phone number that is very close to that of a medical specialist (urologist, proctologist, or something in that area). She gets way-too-descriptive messages left on her voicemail.

She should post the messages on youtube!!! :histeric:

eta: I feel genuine empathy for the fella who's had an erection longer then 4 hours that's trying to contact his urologist.

Was? Does that mean that you are no longer a slut, or did you just change your phone number? :hmm:

For the last twenty years I've had an unlisted phone number and I've paid extra for the benefit. The last phone book distributed had my number in it and I've had a resurgence of marketing and nuisance phone calls. I guess I'm going to have to have the phone disconnected altogether if I want some peace and quiet.

I hope you got a refund of the surcharge for your "unlisted." Get yourself listed on the "Do Not Call List" then get the names of unsolicited commercial callers. If the caller repeatedly calls your number you are entitled to compensation for violation of the "Do Not Call Law." Great fun for retirees and anadditional source of income from those that persist!

I'm on every "Do not Call" list known to man and when I complain absolutely nothing is done. There are so many loop holes in that law that it's useless.

The best strategy I've found is to ask them if they could loan me money.

:yeah:

I pay a $5 monthly fee to block all calls that have "unknown" or "private" caller ID. I also pay for a call blocker service. If solocitors get around the first obstacle I repoort them to the FCC and block the number for good.

With the few that get through I just hang up. No sense wasting time and emotion on modern rudenesss.

I need to find a phone with a bigger and brighter caller ID display so I can ignore calls more effectively.

I get very few any more. I simply do not answer "Private Callers" and just hang up on the political, charity and police association calls that are "legal". If they start out with "Hello Mr. so and so, how are you today", I generally say "Fine and thanks for calling and asking", right before I hang up on them.

That is essentially what I do and say. It's faster and less hasle than asking to be put on their do no call list, which is probably a waste of time anyway. By being pleasant I am not wasting any emotional energy on the poor schlep who is just doing his miserable and unwelcome job anyway.

In that case, you lost potential business by changing your number. That's assuming that your once free services are good enough to merit paying for them...

My wife just got a new cell couple weeks back and she keeps getting random calls from different men as well. Looks like we may have to change our number, darn hookas.
