I have a 2003 Deville DTS and my nav system keeps turning on and off. It does it about every 15 seconds when moving and when stopped every once in a while sometimes not for a while. It totally turns off radio and all and re powers up to the Cadillac screen. Do you think its a loose connection somewhere or a bad navi unit. We pulled the unit out and unplugged and re plugged in the cables???????????????????

It is OEM. Never been upgraded or molested. Totally stock navi unit for 03.

I have been having similar problems with our 2001 Deville, but the instrument cluster turns on and off. As well as the radio and hvac controls, but not as often. In some other forums they mentioned checking the grounding terminal packs. (One ring terminal, with 6-12 black wires.) I know there is one under the hood, near the wiper fluid fill cap, and there are two on either side of the front door pilars, visible if you remove the lower plastic trim. Under the rear seat (where the battery is) , there is a ground pac as well. There are also some in other locations, that I have not located. I know some of these can be corroded and cause the power to fluctuate, but they are tricky to repair.
