When dealer gave me prices I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Thanks tedcmiller 10-08-09, 07:11 PM Are you replacing them because they need it or because the owner's manual said you needed to do it? I ask because my wife's 2004 DTS had the original wipers when I traded it in on a 2008 DTS. The original wipers on the 2004 DTS worked just fine. cubldr 10-09-09, 10:59 AM MY 06 blades work fine, but the part that contacts the glass is splitting at the ends from the rest of the blade. In NC they can fail you at inspection if this is the case with your wipers. So how much do these factory "structureless blades" cost to replace, anyway? tedcmiller 10-09-09, 12:25 PM I live in NC too, and had no problems with the wiper blades over four years (2004 DTS). You must use them a lot more than my wife, or the car sits out in the Sun rather than in a garage. Since I haven't required any new wiper blades, I have no idea how much they cost. z06bigbird 10-10-09, 05:25 PM Duct tape?? lol I did not know about these wipers. I need to research them. Thanks. TulsaVic 10-12-09, 06:04 PM Do a search on the "STS 2005 - 2010" forum on "wiper blades". There's a thread there on "replacement wiper blades" (believe we're all talking the structure-less blades) that goes on for four pages. The STS blade made be a different size. But the comments on the brand names and their quality may be helpful.... But if you're going to post anything there, be forewarned. They're a rowdy crowd. Not as bad as the CTS adolescents, but close.... DevilleDeeman 10-29-09, 05:00 PM Go to Costco and purchase the hinge-less(or flex) blades..they work great. I replace my blades every year regardless of the condition, wiper blades take alot of abuse. Plus they're cheap at Costco...$20.00 a pair. The wiper thread in question... http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-sts-forum-2005-through-2010/146208-replacement-wiper-blades.html Oh come now, we're always respectful to our DTS brethren. Usually. Actually, I just drove a 2010 DTS N* for 2 days while my STS received a new steering wheel (wheel heater died). I enjoyed the luxury and even left the radio on the Classical station selected by the dealership for the entire 2 days. I haz culcher now. I seriously did enjoy the floaty/soft ride of the DTS, nice to see Cadillac did not abandon the style entirely as they did in the CTS/STS lines. | |
