Sure as hell not gunna let my vehicle start smoking now....... Welcome to the forum dowlatij c5 rv 10-02-09, 08:11 PM I kept up with a M3 headed down the curving freeway entrance ramp all the way up to, um, a speed above the legal limit. typhoon 10-04-09, 12:07 AM On two different occasions I blew the doors off a Harley. I always thought they were quicker than that, but I guess not. algiorda 10-04-09, 01:08 PM I am consistently challenged by Chrysler Pacifica's. I don't know why, but the owners seem to think the SRX ripped off thier concept/style and thus always try to beat me out of Toll Booths. I have a AWD V6 and I beat the pants of them. I love beating anything off the line when the roads are wet; with Traction control and awd it's pretty hard to beat the traction of the SRX. It's no match for my v6 srx LOL. I'm thinking when my V6 wears out, I'll swap in a LS small block and make a CTSV wagon. Assuming gas is under 10 bucks a gallon by then. Rolex 10-06-09, 09:55 PM Discussing street racing will get this thread :lock:. Limit discussion to track encounters only please. ;);) dowlatij 10-06-09, 11:05 PM My adult daughter has a Pacifica. Haha or you can just purchase a v8 those pacificas cant keep up at all. arizonadebbi 10-07-09, 12:22 AM When I still had my STS I played with alot of tuners. Now I just sit in my SRX, smile, and feel superior !!! -Debbi 57TBird 10-09-09, 04:22 PM No lawbreaking - Just -0 to speed limit... I used to routinely beat Porsche Cayennes and even some of the older Cayenne S's on test drives from a local porsche/VW dealership near my house with my 05 SRX. The first redlight I would get on it and really beat them, then the driver and salesman would have a discussion, and they would go for it on the second light. I would rev up in sport mode to a point where I wouldn't get wheel spin or traction control kick-in, and usually be 1/2 to 1 length ahead when I slowed down at 45mph (the speed limit). That usually would prompt another more heated discussion from the driver and salesman. BTW - I have an 05 RWD V8, with a volant cold air kit and custom magnaflow exhaust (which may help a little on the reponsiveness, if not in overall HP). I have also repeatedly refused the transmission softening reflash that the dealer offers every time I service. Also, Looking at the HP figures and weight, there is NO WAY I should be able to beat a New Cayenne S (385 HP), GTS (405 HP), or especially a Turbo (500 HP and up). Too bad they didn't make a SRX-V. The Wrench 10-18-09, 08:00 PM Last month I took my 2WD V6 in for service, and they gave me a new CTS with the DI engine as a loaner. Now, I know the 304 HP lightweight CTS will "smoke" my SRX, but the driving impression from zero to forty is definitely not there. The SRX just has a peppier feel off the line through 1st and 2nd gear. Probably just gearing and throttle tip-in angle, but the CTS felt kinda sluggish by comparison. Of course, once the CTS got rolling, Oh Yeah. DG | |
