It irritated me that my SRX didn't have the nice looking white license plate lights. So I spent some time in the CTS forums reading through their LED thread and figured out what I needed.

I bought my LEDs from superbrightleds.com. They had the best prices and reviews by far. I ended up purchasing them for the license plate as well as my city lights (that I installed with my HID kit, other thread).

Install for the bulbs was fairly straight forward. Most annoying part was messing with the license plate vanity to get out far enough to swap the bulbs out.

Unscrew the one screw in the tailgate handle

Remove the plastic panel carefully. You'll need to disconnect the interior courtesy light

Panels off, remove the five nuts securing the studs for the plastic vanity surround

Unscrew the bulb holders by twisting about 1/4 turn, swap out the bulbs for the LEDs

Had them in for awhile. Pretty simple mod. Great writeup. If I remember correctly the LEDs are the same size as the lights up in the front next to the HIDs, that flash when you lock/unlock your car). That's another great light to replace when you go and make the mission to change the turn signal.

Oh and be careful of cops, technically (at least in California) they are illegal. Since they are not "white" but more of a blue color. I haven't been hassled though.
