I want to find out, if my car has the optional "Theft Deterrent System" (Eldorado Biarritz 1977). Can somebody tell me, where I have to look??? If it is not in the car installed, is it possible to install it?? ....and where I can buy it (or find it)...and is it strange to install?? :confused: :confused: :confused:

I dont know for sure about that year, but one wat to find out is to lock the car with the window down. Then, unlock the car manually buy lifting the lock by hand. If you have a factory alarm, the horn will sound continously until you insert the key in the door and turn it to "unlock". There should also be a light on the dash such as "security system" ususally orange.

chances are, If you didn't have power windows.. you don't have a security system :p -- I seriously doubt that model has a theft deterent system. But like STS310 said.. try to set it off.

you could get the theft deterent system in 1977 so if your car has it and it still works you should be able to set it of the way STS 310 said to. If you don't have it you're probably better off to just get an aftermarket alarm if you want one.
