I just ran across this and found it interesting.

Now, some of you gear heads out there tell me, is the LT1 a long-life engine? Sure looks like it to me.

Yup it sure is Elvis. My '95 Fleetwood has 112,000 miles on 'er and it hardly uses any oil at all and for a stocker(only K&N F.I.P.K. so far), in a two ton car, she's still has plenty of giddyup.

That's an excellent article!
Really tells you a lot about the wonderful LT1 and explains why so many people love it and have come to rely on it.

Hell yeah, the LT1 is a great motor.. I currently have 149K on it.. Went to the track last weekend it turned consistant 12.90's@ 106-108mph #3900Lbs.. Stock long block w/ bolt ons.. GM did pretty good when putting these together.. but like everything else.. u don't take care of them.. they don't last..

Mine's got 111k and running strong! Runs low 14's (traction limited) at 4800+ lbs. :) And almost 50k were put on in the last year and a half... ;)
