I've got the 1993 STS with a service manual.. if you goto your car and turn the key on, press 'OFF' and the 'Warm' button on the climate control panel.. post back what ever codes it says you have, i'll help you with what i can.

You know the when its done displaying codes when it says 'PCM?'

Service Ride Control, Traction Disabled has to do with your suspension.

Caddyshack, thank you so much for your response. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I do need your help. With being a racing weekend, I couldn't get back to you right away. I will try to get the codes tomorrow,(sat.) Now, on the way to the track, it said change trans fluid , the air worked & had all temp numbers. On the way home, the same old thing came up, service ride control & traction disabled & defrost came on, wouldn't shut off, then just traction disabled came on & stayed on solid, ( no flashing). Numbers came back up ( temps) & can operate heat & air. I will try to get codes tomorrow. But if it comes up right away, then I can't seem to get it cause it seems to lock me out. :hmm: Will try, then get back to you. Thanks again. Rayburn.

Well, thats kinda cool.. i replied to your other post, under the STS section.
Sounds like an intermittent connection, just a loose wire hopefully. Unless of course you can find something that seems to trigger it, like a crossed wire or what have you.

The other post talked about the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) and the communiations line having a problem.. Hence the the codes about loss of data and your gauges blacking out, they have nothing to display.

I do know that the dealership does electrical diagnostics for about 80 bucks, i dont know if it gets credited to the final bill or not, i think its an hourly rate..

If you don't want to take the dash apart and wiggle some wires, thats the next best option.. well, after trying to get ahold of mr. whizard. I'll look in my service manual to see exactly where the communications line are located and let you know.
