I'm not too concerned about the ABS issue. I'm more concerned about the steering linkage, but at this point have done nothing aside from wait for it to fail so that I can become an instant millionaire on GM's dime (assuming I survive the wreck when the suspension separates).

Recall 04V151000: ABS Control Module Reprogramming
Notes
DEFECT: On certain passenger vehicles equipped with all wheel drive, the antilock brake system (ABS) may improperly temporarily isolate the driver from the foundation brake system for a maximum of 1.25 seconds. This can cause an increase in braking distance, which could result in a crash.
REMEDY: Dealers will reprogram the ABS electronic control unit. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification is expected to begin during April or May 2004. Owners may contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339.

The problem description posted above doesn't mention it, but I thought the ABS problem could occur only within a few seconds of starting the car. Unfortunately I can't find a link to the original article about the problem ... duh, just found it right in the other recall thread:
The problem, due to a software anomaly, only occurs during the first few seconds of driving when the SUV is moving slowly, he said.
So, basically, you might be in danger of driving into your garage door if you accidently floor it and then land on the brakes in the garage.
If you have any concerns on your particular SRX, have your dealer check your VIN on their computer for recalls. If your vehicle is not affected, the audit will confirm. My vehicle was built in March, and the ABS update was implemented at Lansing assembly plant before my vehicle production date. I have an audit report done whenever I have the oil changed. BTW, my V8 AWD has had no problems after 15K miles.
