Yes, you read it right.

There's a new $5,000 incentive on 2009 CTS-Vs, so the very last 2009 I have left (the Black/Black with everything including Recaros) can be purchased by ANYONE for $8,500 off MSRP- no GMS number, competitive vehicle, or anything else is required. Just call me to reserve it, then get to Florida, sign the papers and take it home. If you waive the 60 day return offer, you get another $500. That's Nine Grand off a brand new 2009.

I'm sure you think there's a catch, so here it is in black and white:

MSRP= $69,560
Your price= $60,560

That's it. No catch. Anyone can get that price. If you're an Employee/Supplier or have a lease however, there's even more.

The rebate stacks on top of GMS and GSU, so I can sell it to a qualifying buyer for $5,500 below your GMS or GSU price. And for those of you with a lease ending befor March 31st, you qualify for an additional $4,000 incentive which stacks on top of the discounts already mentioned, AND either $500 or $1,000 extra depending on how many payments you have left!

I know it might seem a little confusing, but suffice it to say that there is some serious money out there if you grab a 2009 before they're gone. This post makes sense to me since I typed it, but feel free to call me if you're still unclear and would like to discuss the details of how exactly the rebates will apply in your case. Not everyone will qualify for everything, but the discounts start at $9,000 off and go up from there.

Seriously- there is now officially no reason not to grab this car before someone else does. Anyone who has a lease ending before March 31st 2010 can turn it in early and take another $4,000 off. That would mean $13,000 off total. :bonkers:

You can also rest assured that the prices I post can be had by EVERYONE, and that any "special" rebates that you must qualify for (like the $4,000 early lease return) are clearly explained in my posts. I've done some homework - some of which Tony helped me with, some through a dealer in Houston. There are still some confusing things, so I'm going to post them.

One is that it implies that you turn in a lease that expires before March 31, you get an additional $4000 off. But, they also will add back in any remaining lease payments that you owe. If you have more than three payments left, I think that you actually get $5,000 off (notice I said "I think"). Then they add back in how much you still owe. As an example, if you have five payments left at $800 a payment, you get $5,000 off, but then they add $4000 (5x800) back in to the sell price of the new car.

I've also been told that it doesn't matter who the lease is with - does not have to be a GM lease, or even a GM car. I'm not sure how that actually works - I assume you still have to turn the lease vehicle in to the company it is leased through - right? If the payments are going to be added back in anyway, why would you even have to turn in your existing lease, as long as it qualifies???

Please correct me if any of that is not correct.

All in all, a good deal - but still more than I am ready to pay for a car. Thanks for the help Tony! Someone who is interested in a CTS-V anyway should jump on this. I was not interested to begin with, I just thought if the price was low enough I might be swayed.

Cadillac Tony
09-27-09, 01:24 PM
You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

When you terminate a lease early they always add the remaining payments to the new car, unless GMAC is running one of their "Pull-Ahead" programs where they waive a certain number of them. In this case, the whole reason they're offering the $4,000 (+$1,000 if you have more than 3 pmts left) is to cover what you have left on the lease, plus whatever's left over goes toward the new car. It's a great offer that keeps you from being "penalized" for turning in the lease early- the payments get added to the new car, but then the $5,000 washes them back out.

If the payments are going to be added back in anyway, why would you even have to turn in your existing lease?

Good question. The reason is because the amount that gets added to the new car is actually less than the sum of your remaining payments. Instead of $800 x 5 ($4,000), they take out the interest charge and taxes, leaving only about $3,000 to be added instead of 4. Also, many people take advantage of these offers because they're close to going over on their mileage limit, or maybe close to needing new tires. Instead of paying a ton of mileage penalties and buying a $1,000 set of new tires for a lease car they're going to return in 5 months, they turn it in now, save the interest charges, taxes, tire cost and mileage fees, and get an extra $5,000 off the new car.

Tony - that makes sense. Thanks!

Honestly, as my daily driver (I have a Z06 Corvette as well) I really would have been more interested in another non-V. But there are some things I'm not happy with on it. One is that I pretty much can't stand the seats, and have not been overly impressed with the suspension (I have the mid-level).

You need to press Caddy to offer a Recaro and Magnetic Shock aborber suspension from the V as an option on the non-V's. I know, we always want what we can't get!

Thanks again for you help. I've still got time to talk myself into something - and I have a long history of doing just that!!!

If you qualify for GMS it saves you over $6000, then you've got the $5000 bonus cash, $4000 for a lease that ends before 4/1/10 and $500 for waiving the return policy, which equals over $15,500 off. Yeah- I'm saying it. :)
