Own a 2004 V6 AWD with 75k miles.

Last winter our SRX had recall 08178 work done (Automatic Transmission Shift Lever Shifts Out of Park - replace pawl stopper and a bushing within the shifter assembly). Before the recall work was done, the car never shifted out of park improperly.

This past weekend the car started to experience the following problems:

-car shifts out of park without depressing the brake pedal
-key stuck in the ignition
-"Service Theft System" DIC warning
-"security (car and lock)" dash light
-"traction control off" dash light
-car wouldn't start initially; I didn't work on it, but a family friend disconnected the battery terminals and found a loose connection on the positive terminal; he added a washer which has allowed the car to start since
-DIC not functioning properly (trips not working, fuel used not working, oil and transmission fluid life not working)
-gas gauge and temp gauge not working - both flatlined

So, do I have two separate issues here (battery/electrical related and shift lock related)? What should my course of action be?

My thought process was:

-closer look at the battery terminals
-replace the 5 year old, factory battery "just in case"
-adjust the shift control linkage
-if still not fixed call Cadillac and complain

So, thoughts and recommendations please :)

The shift problem...take back to dealer.
The rest sounds like a weqk battery although my radio/DIC was defective (everything reset itself sporadically) when I bought her- 4 years ago and replaced. Weak batteries cause numerous seemingly unrelated problems--may just buy a new one and hope all is cured.

Definitely back to the dealer for the shifting problem....it is supposed the remedy the problem not create it!

We had the same recall last year for our AWD NS/V8.
so far no issues, my wife uses it as a daily driver.
