I'm replacing the CV joints (they splattered grease all over the wheel wells), and I got the ball joints popped out, no problem. I tried using a crow bar to separate the inner part of the CV joint from the transmission, but it won't budge. Anyone done this before? (02 deville)

Use two crow bars.
When you pry on only 1 side it presses the axle into the other side of the retaining ring which makes it a pain in the rear end. When you use even force on both sides it will come out like nothing.

Be sure to pry on a bolt or something solid and not the side of the trans case, enough force on that aluminum will crack it wide open.
