If I want to put an attachment on a post and I click on manage attachments it opens a window that I can browse. When I do, I get the pictures that I have stored on my PC, not the ones that are stored in my attachments folder on this site. How do I attach those or are they just a list of what I have already attached and if so, why? Do I have to click "save as" and store them back on my PC again to post them (I know that works)? I'm stumped and cannot figure out how to use them.

Go to User CP and scroll all the way down to "attachments". Click on it and you will see all your attachments on this site. You can open them and copy the url or just right click and capture the url (select "copy image location"). Paste the url into the new post.

Or, if you know the post that the image is in, go to that post and right click on the image. Copy the image location url (select "copy image location") and paste into the new thread.

I just tried it with your avatar. That only copies the link. How about posting the actual pic, like this. I can't seem to do this from the user CP.

The url for the image has to be inside the brackets. (Quote this post and look at the syntax on the image.) You click on the little "mountain" icon above, then paste the url into the image box. It should be like... [IMG]http://www.cadillacforums.com...etc... [ /IMG]

Or, if you get the pic from another website, you just insert that url in the brackets.

If you right-click on any image and select "Properties", you can see its url. URL being the internet address of the image.

P.S. I was going to ask how you enlarged the engine pic that has since disappeared, but probably best to quit while we are ahead. My RAM is full. If something goes in, something else must come out. :)

I don't know why the engine pic disappeared unless you deleted it from your attachments folder in user cp. The picture links only work if the pic is still at the location referenced. (So if I clean out my photobucket pics, half my posts will show a red X or nothing.)

It's not a bad job to replace the FSU. I bought one from eBay but had to migrate one of the wire harnesses from the old to the new - just a little splice with solderless connectors and a little shrink tubing. I took a few pics along the way:

To insert the pics I had to open another browser window and log into CF there in order to enter my album and get the URLs. I replied to the thread in the original window. This seems like a lot of work to quickly grab a pic from your album and insert - I see others do it all the time so I think I'm doing something wrong. Please explain this again for a dunderhead :hmm:

This is what it should look like for your first image., just remove the star. What you are doing wrong is, you are putting the url of the page of where the pic is on. You need to right click on the pic and copy the url of the properties of the pic.
