does 245 dollars for the catera steinmetz grill and 165 dollars to ship seem kind of high or is that what everybody is paying for their grills?

Thats extremely high, look on ebay.co.uk for some used ones...

Or you can always mod your OEM Cadillac grille by removing the emblem and doing some custom work on the center section to clean things up...

I have seen one done and it looked amazing...

Look how similar my OPEL V8 Grille looks to the OEM Catera grille...

i've already looked and no good. my dad crashed my catera so its original grille is shot. and i never really liked the grille it came with, so i guess my best bet is to go to steinmetz and buy new

Here's an alternative. It's just like the mesh grille I have on my 2001 Catera Sport. Much cheaper than the Steinmetz or Irmsher grilles (if you can even find them). Buy a Cadillac crest & wreath and you're all set. The pic is a link to the ebay auction. It's a Polish site but I ordered from vendor there (not this one) with good results. Check the British & German ebay sites too. Use Vauxhall Omega & Opel Omega in the search.

This is my car with the grille.
