I have noticed several cars lately that have the panel that holds the backup light and license plate painted the same color as the car. Is that something that is particular to a model or year or is an after market thing? I really like the way it looks. I've always thought that the big plastic thing an the trunk looked kind of cheap.....

I have noticed several cars lately that have the panel that holds the backup light and license plate painted the same color as the car. My 08 has the panel painted same as the body. I have seen an 06, 07's and 09's the same way. Don't remember seeing anything different.
