Hi!

I have a STS from -93 that activates the Traction Control as soon as i get above 37mph (60km/h). Feels like the engine looses power, i suppose the computer shuts down some cylinders.

I have checked the codes and there is no codes. This fault was discovered when the car was taken out from the winter storage.

Just to be sure i measured the wheel sensors, this is what i got.
Front Left=1100 Ohms
Front Rigth=1100 Ohms

Rear Left=1071 Ohms
Rear Rigth=1111 Ohms

When i slowly accelerate up to around 37mph then i get the Traction Active message and the engine looses power and the car brakes by itself.
I can hear a sound similar to when the ABS is active.

If I accelerate hard up to i.e 55mph and then stop accelerate, then the Traction Control kicks in and brakes down to 37mph.

Same thing if there is a downhill and if i dont touch the gas pedal, then the car brakes if the speed get above 37mph.

To drive the car is really "hard" since it brakes and looses power all the time.

I really hope that anyone can help me to solve this problem!

PS. Sorry for my poor English, Im from Sweden.

Make sure the tire sizes match, if one tire is the wrong size or the pressures are too far off from side to side it might think you have wheel slip.

From there you would need to look at the wiring and make sure there are no issues.
On some cars we had issues with electrical interference causing a faulty signal to the brake controller that would engage traction.

Your English is a lot better than my Swedish!

Hi!

When we just got it from winter storage, there was a flat tire on a summerwheel, so I changed to three summerwheels and let one wintertire be on the car until i had repaired the defective tire.

Then I discovered this problem I supposed that the problem was the difference in size that caused the TCS to get active.

Now I a difference in size front-rear, i have a higher profile on the tires that is on the rear. Can this affect the TCS. Or is it just a difference left-rigth that can cause it to behave like this.

It should be a left to right on the same axle issue.
If I were programming the car it would be the drive axle but I am not sure what the engineers designed in.

I had a CTS that had mismatched tires on it and you could not go over 40 mph because of the TCS's interpretation of the difference in wheel speed.
The traction system went crazy.
