Bingo! They're either very clueless or they're flat out lying to you. You were wise to come here first and check...

Wait, are you saying a salesperson didn't know what they were talking about?
(okay I know SOME know there stuff but....)

For the most part, sales people say whatever will make them the most money. The truth of the matter is not usually relevant. In this case, the dealer has three cars with automatic transmissions. My guess is that he wants to sell them and will say most anything to accomplish this. I can't imagine a CTS-V with no manual transmission option (even though I have and prefer the automatic).

*sigh*

These rumors keep popping up, usually started by a Salesman who is desperate to sell a car they have on hand. "No manual for 2010!" and "There's going to be a HUUUUUGE price increase in 2010!" seem to be the most popular lies to move inventory. I've debunked both on here already in the following two threads:

No manual? (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-v-series-forum-2009/168764-clear-up-few-rumors.html)

2010 Pricing (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-v-series-forum-2009/176537-2010-pricing-option-changes-facts.html)

I might not sell the most cars of anyone in the world, but at least I'm not lying to do so. If you'd rather deal with someone who might be a few bucks higher on the price, but will shoot straight with you right from square one, give me a call.

I used to work at a Chevy store in CA and I lost count of the number of times a customer came to me with a remote that a salesman gave them to program.
I'd spend several minutes trying to do the programming procedure because the salesman promised the customer they all had it only to check the vehicle build and find that it didn't have the keyless option.
That really seems to irritate people... including me...

As with all things, there are stand up guys who shoot straight like Tony.
There are others who don't know bluetooth from a gold tooth who will bait you into a sale by telling you whatever you want to hear.

I can understand a small fact mistaken by a salesman on a feature. I cannot however, understand or forgive a professional salesman for telling me a major item like a transmission is not available. I could not tell you how pissed I'd be is I was told that there would no longer be a manual (if that were my preference) and bought an auto only to find out later that the manual did exist. I thought those kinds of sales tactics were "old school" and we were supposed to receive better than flat out lies.
Did you guys here the one about the new engine in the CTS-V not having the supercharger? Kidding!

take the salesman to the GM and ask him to repeat what he said.

Unfortunately, the salesman wasn't lying. If you go to the Cadillac web site and go to "build your own," you'll see that the only transmission listed is the 6-speed automatic for the 2010 CTS-V.

The web site glitch has also been brought up before on this site as well, try a search. Jeez, why don't you guys believe Tony? He is generally 100% on the mark.

The fact is that nobody will know for sure until there is an official 6spd manual 2010 owner.

GM "Mark of Excellence" badges on our vehicles

A decision was made last week to stop using the GM "Mark of Excellence" badges on GM vehicles. It was agreed that with GM's focus on four core brands, and less of a focus on the GM brand, the relevance of the badge has diminished. This change will be phased in going forward. This message is to inform you as these vehicles start arriving at your dealership, they are not mis-built vehicles. DO NOT file transportation claims for missing badges, DO NOT re-install the badges, DO NOT file a warranty claim for missing badges. Thanks as always, for your cooperation.

A salesman like Tony can tell you the honest truth once they start allowing orders for the 2010 model because all available options will show in the ordering system at the dealership (ewill could almost certainly find out by asking at his). If he can see a 6 speed manual to order, it's available, despite any rumors, mucked up web sites, or other dishonest salesmen.

Someone come buy the '09s we have left and I'll have them order some up with manual transmissions and see what happens.

I like the V badge on the trunk lid on the left, like all V series cars have always been in their short history. But I'm a traditionalist.

Also interesting. . . . GM has changed the VIN structure. Since its inception in '04 the CTS-V VIN has always started as 1G6DN57xxxxxxxxxx

That ebay add would be legit if they showed the invoice on the windshield or if the V had the new sapele wood.
